Why the Large Version?

With a diameter of 30.48 cm, this drum has a considerably larger sounding surface than the widespread 6-inch models. You can hear it immediately: more volume, a deeper fundamental note, a noticeably longer decay. The 15 tongues also give real scope for melodies – where smaller drums with 6 or 8 notes quickly reach their limits.

Sounds Good from the First Minute

All the tongues are pre-tuned in D major and harmonically matched to one another. There are practically no wrong notes – no matter in which order you play them. This makes the instrument equally suitable for people without any musical experience and for musicians looking for an additional instrument with a distinctive tone colour.

Played with the hands, the tone is soft and muted; with the mallets supplied, the sound becomes clearer and more carrying. Both can be combined freely.
