Solid tonewoods with A.R.E. technology

The hand-selected solid Sitka spruce top undergoes Yamaha's own A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) wood treatment, which artificially gives the wood the mature, resonant character of an aged vintage instrument. Combined with the redesigned scalloped bracing, the top vibrates more freely for noticeably more projection and a rich, overtone-laden tone. The solid mahogany back and sides deliver a warm, focused foundation, while the 3-ply African mahogany neck plus the ebony fingerboard and bridge ensure stability and precise playability.

Natural plug-in sound for the stage

For live performance, the Yamaha SRT2 system with SRT piezo pickup delivers a dynamic, authentically acoustic tone straight into your amp or PA. Volume, Treble and Bass controls, a Mic-Type switch with two virtual microphone models, plus Blend and AFR (anti-feedback resonance) controls let you fine-tune the sound to any stage situation – no external microphone required.
