The Yamaha YRS-402 is a three-piece soprano recorder made of Ecodear™. This special plastic is an environmentally conscious variant, in which part of the conventional petroleum-based material has been replaced by resins from plant starch .
Advantages of Ecodear™
The special material of the YRS-402 has a significantly higher density than normal plastic. As a result, these recorders achieve a more centered tone, improved blowing resistance, and easier response. Through these improvements, the Ecodear™ models sound even more like a wooden recorder. The windway of the YRS-402 B also has a more pronounced curvature and now meets the standard of professional recorders.
